Helene is a registered primary teacher with experience teaching in both the primary and early childhood sectors. More recently Helene has become a practicing MSL educational specialist, which offers the amazing opportunity to work closely with children who have learning difficulties. Helene is mother to four beautiful children who have given her a deeper insight into a child’s development as well an incredible sense of achievement.

Her work and study over the years has highlighted the crucial need for awareness of dyslexia amongst educators and parents. Helene has a strong passion for creating awareness, as well as advocating for children who may be affected by dyslexia.

Helene’s work teaching MSL (Multi-sensory Structured Language) over the last nine years or so has shown that a child who understands how their brain works, will inevitably gain the confidence they require to navigate their schooling years with greater success. The other extremely important key factor to success is early intervention.

Her aim is to bring as much attention to this area as possible. She aims to educate both parents and educators in how to look for early warning signs and offer ideas which help to make a difference. She also aims to dispel any myths and negativity surrounding dyslexia and encourages the focus to be on the incredible strengths dyslexia offers. Her dream is to help as many dyslexic children as possible gain the confidence to shine in their strengths and learn how to navigate their learning journeys in order to reach their fullest potential. Helene’s mission is to achieve this through creating awareness.

"The greatest stumbling block preventing a dyslexic child from realizing his potential and following his dream is the widespread ignorance about the true nature of dyslexia. ... -Dr. Sally Shaywitz.
